After a stopover in the US Virgin Islands, the next day was a ferry ride to the British Virgin Islands for about an hour, and then meeting up with the rest of the group that I’d be spending the next week with.
I headed out to the grocery store to pick up supplies for the week, but the selection was a bit more limited than we’d find back home. I found myself struggling in the fruit and vegetable section, trying to find substitutions, but noticed a woman who really seemed like she knew her way around, so I asked her for a lifeline and some help. Turns out I could not have asked a better person. She told me she was a chef on a charter yacht and she was there doing shopping for their next week. After asking her a few more questions, she took pity on me and ended up taking me around the store for 45 minutes, shopping, and the supply run was complete. She gave me her number and told me to let her know the name of our boat when I got back, as well as what stops we had planned. And then she spent the week messaging and giving me tips on what to see as we made our way around the islands. People are so nice!
I got back to the boat, we all put away supplies, and then headed out to dinner since we would not get our briefing and be able to head out to sea until the morning. Dinner was at the famous (well, famous in Road Town anyway) “Pussers”, and their lobster mac and cheese was fantastic!
I took a 360 camera along on this trip and am still learning how to edit and export from it. So we’ll see how those videos and photos translate to Facebook…
